Say "Minda" and ask: a voice assistant that gets things done
The Minda voice assistant, on every plan of Minda Super Intelligence, Free included, answers when you say "Minda": it opens sites, searches, reads the page, controls tabs and hands longer jobs to the SI agent. Each stretch of speech it hears is sent for transcription, to OpenAI with your key or to Minda's hosted models on credits.

How it works
-
Turn it on and say its name
Turn on the voice assistant from the microphone button or Settings. Say "Minda" before a request; the first use explains where audio goes.
-
Ask for an action or a job
Short commands such as switching tabs, scrolling or opening notes run at once. A job of several steps goes to the SI agent, which works on it in a chat.
-
Hear the result
Minda answers aloud in the voice and language you chose, asks before a step that needs your OK, and tells you when a handed-off job is done.
What can I ask the Minda voice assistant to do?
Browser actions, questions about the page in front of you, and whole jobs for the SI agent, all by voice.
The browser: open a site, search, switch or close tabs, scroll, zoom, split view, open notes, bookmarks or history, or go to a workspace by name.
The page: "summarize this page" reads the article, a PDF's text or a video's captions.
Music and video: "play this song on YouTube, then that one, and close it after 30 minutes".
Your day: a spoken briefing with the time, what is left on today's calendar and new notifications.
Jobs: "ask the agent to find three suppliers and compare prices" starts the SI agent; up to three jobs run at once, each reported back when it ends.
Where does my voice go?
Speech goes to a speech-to-text service: OpenAI with your own key, or Minda's hosted models on your Minda SI credits.
To catch its name, the assistant transcribes what it hears, so each stretch of speech the microphone picks up, a 16 kHz clip of at most 12 seconds, is sent. A clip starts only when a human voice is heard, which keeps typing, coughs and claps out.
Common commands are then matched to a fixed list of browser actions without a model call; only unclear requests go to a model. With Keep SI on this computer turned on, Windows' own speech recognizer does the transcribing instead, in US English, and on macOS and Linux the assistant does not start.
Can I change its voice and language?
Yes: pick a voice and speed in Settings or the microphone menu, or just say "speak like a kid" or "speak Chinese with me".
Choose the mascot's own voice, a woman, man, kid or animal voice, one of OpenAI's natural voices, or your computer's voice. You can speak English, let it detect the language, or pick one of 20 languages, and it answers in the language you set.

What it does not do
Where this version stops, in plain words, so you know before you rely on it.
It spends Minda SI credits, 100 a month on Free; when they run out, buy a credit pack (from $5 for 1,000 credits, never expire) or upgrade.
Every stretch of speech it hears leaves your computer for transcription, unless Keep SI on this computer is on, and that works on Windows only.
Without your own OpenAI key, each utterance it hears costs at least 1 Minda SI credit.
It needs a working microphone; a blocked or missing one turns the assistant off and says why.
Frequently asked questions
Can I talk to it without saying "Minda" first?
Yes, if you turn on Listen without "Minda" in the microphone menu or Settings. Anything that sounds like a request is then acted on, while nearby talk and noise are still left alone. It is off by default, and it sends no more audio than before, since every utterance is transcribed anyway.
Can I interrupt Minda while it is talking?
Yes. Interrupt by talking is on by default: speak over a reply and Minda stops at once and takes what you said as the next request. Saying "stop" also ends a command that is taking too long.
Are my voice conversations saved?
Each day's voice conversation is saved as a chat in History, searchable and synced like your other chats, unless you turn that off. When you mention an earlier talk, such as "what did we decide yesterday", Minda can read those saved chats to answer.
How much does the voice assistant cost?
It is on every plan, Free included. Transcription, natural voices and Minda Live, the spoken conversation, use your own OpenAI key, which costs no credits, or Minda SI credits as you use them: Free has 100 a month, Pro 2,000, and a credit pack (from $5 for 1,000 credits, never expire) adds more. Your computer's own voice costs nothing.
