The same summary is in the app: Settings, About, What leaves this computer. This page covers the Minda app on your computer; Minda SI for Chrome and Minda Files are not on it yet.
1. Sent in the background
The "Through Hide my IP" column also says how a request that does not go through it leaves the computer. No, direct: Minda's main program connects straight to the destination, whatever the computer's proxy settings say. No, system proxy: the request goes out through the same network engine as a browser tab (Chromium's), in a session of its own that holds no cookies and keeps no cache. It uses this computer's proxy settings (a PAC script, automatic detection or a company proxy; none means a direct connection), its root certificates (so a company proxy or an antivirus that inspects HTTPS works) and the Secure DNS setting. Either way a request never goes through Hide my IP, Tor, the proxy servers you add in Minda or a team's proxy. A proxy that signs in with Windows (NTLM, Kerberos) is answered by the engine itself; one that asks for a user name and password cannot be answered there, and Minda then reports the Minda server as unreachable. Every request to the Minda server leaves this way (the account, sync and its change notices, teams, Minda AI's replies, pictures, videos and voice, the update check, feedback, the skills gallery), and so do an update's download and Minda Live (through an HTTP proxy that needs no sign-in; behind a SOCKS proxy or one that asks for a password, Minda Live goes direct only when the proxy settings also allow a direct connection (DIRECT), and otherwise does not connect).
Harmful-site lists
- Goes to
- uBlock Origin's list hosts, URLhaus
- What is sent
- a list download every 12 h; no page address (pages are matched locally)
- Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
- Turn off
- Privacy & security → Warn about dangerous sites
Ad-blocking filter lists
- Goes to
- the lists' publishers
- What is sent
- a list download every 24 h
- Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
- Turn off
- cannot be turned off: ad blocking is always on (a site's own exception, from the shield, lets that site's ads through)
Tor program
- Goes to
- torproject.org
- What is sent
- a one-time download, SHA-256 pinned, the first time you turn Hide my IP on (it starts off). Tor is a trademark of The Tor Project, Inc.; Minda is not affiliated with or endorsed by it
- Through Hide my IP
- no (it is Tor itself)
- Turn off
- turn Hide my IP off
A workspace's connection check (only when you press Check in the workspace's Connection… dialog, or ask the AI chat to check one)
- Goes to
- Cloudflare
- What is sent
- one request with no cookies; Cloudflare answers the address and country it sees (shown to you, kept nowhere)
- Through Hide my IP
- yes: it goes the way the workspace's pages go (its own proxy, the team's, or Hide my IP)
- Turn off
- don't press Check
Sign in with Minda, in another app (only when you choose it there, e.g. Mindsor)
- Goes to
- that app, through the Minda account server
- What is sent
- your Minda account id and, as the app asks: your email and whether Minda verified it, your name and picture; nothing else of your account or your data
- Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
- Turn off
- sign out at the login page; the app keeps its own account
Minda account refresh
- Goes to
- the Minda account server
- What is sent
- the session token, hourly while signed in; signed out, only the public plan prices, settings and notices are asked for (no token). Every request to the account server names the app's version, system and processor type, so the server can tell versions apart; nothing about the computer beyond that. An account made by signing in records the Terms version in force and the time
- Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
- Turn off
- sign out
Default browser, for the credits bonus
- Goes to
- the Minda account server
- What is sent
- one boolean, while signed in:
truewhen Minda is the default browser (read at account refreshes, at most every 10 min, and whenever the onboarding or Settings looks; again every 12 h while it stays so); nothing when it is not. The server keeps only the time of the lasttrue(+100 Minda AI credits a month for 7 days after it) and of the last report (one a minute) - Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
- Turn off
- sign out; with another browser as the default nothing more is sent and the bonus ends within 7 days
The agent's level (signed in)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server
- What is sent
- one number, while signed in: the agent's growth points (1 for each answer it finished and 1 for each Minda AI credit an answer used; a private window counts none), at account refreshes when it changed, at most every 10 minutes. The server keeps the latest number and its time, deleted with the account; the panel's admins see the level it makes (Users), and Download your data holds it
- Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
- Turn off
- sign out
Sync (on by itself after a sign-in; every plan: all kinds, since 2026-09-29)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server
- What is sent
- Bookmarks and folders, workspaces (name, colour, icon; never their cookies), sidebar apps (address, title, icon; a team's shared apps never), browser settings (not the download folder, graphics acceleration, fonts or the Reply drafts switches and note), history of the last 90 days (address, title, visit count, times), saved passwords (decrypted from the keystore only to be sealed), notes (files up to 900 KB), skills, highlights, saved AI chats, the AI's memory (the facts it was asked to remember), saved agents (their instructions and tasks, never their "act without asking" switch), the notifications list (each alert's site, title and preview text, the page address, whether it was read; never a private window's), preferences (the AI's instructions, the agent's look and personality, the AI model picked, New Tab shortcuts, reader settings, the vertical tabs' width), events of Minda's own calendar (only between computers not linked to Google Calendar), the people and organisations kept on Library → People (their name, social account addresses, picture, bio, an organisation's published contact details and your note: personal data about other people), and your chatbot's knowledge entries (Settings → Chatbot → Knowledge: their title, text, whether you wrote or approved them, and the search terms its model wrote; since 2026-10-13. What it remembers of people, the answers waiting to be learned, the chats and the bot's instructions and token never sync). Each item sealed on this computer (AES-256-GCM; ids are keyed hashes), 1.5 s after a change; the server tells your other signed-in computers that something changed (only a number, never the item), and they pull it at once; also at launch, every 5 min and on window focus. The key: by default a random one Minda's server keeps wrapped with its own secret and hands to your sessions, so Minda's server can read what syncs; with your own passphrase (scrypt) it can't. Scheduled tasks, open tabs, cookies, "never save" sites, API keys and extensions never sync. The server always sees how many items of each kind, their sizes and when they change
- Through Hide my IP
- no: the sync requests, system proxy; the change notices, direct
- Turn off
- Settings → Account → Sync, or the sign-in dialog: keep everything on this computer only (for every account, until you turn sync on), Use a passphrase (end to end), Delete synced data (the server; its daily backups keep what was deleted for up to 14 days); an item you delete leaves a sealed deletion marker, whose content is emptied a year later (its opaque id, kind and time stay)
Teams (only while you are in one)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server
- What is sent
- the session token; the answer is your teams (members' names, emails and roles, open invites for admins, shared workflows' titles, shared results). Read when Settings → Team opens (at most every 10 s), on window focus at most every 5 min, and after a team change; in no team nothing is sent (
/v1/mecarries the count) - Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
- Turn off
- leave the team (Settings → Team → Team)
Search suggestions (on for a new profile)
- Goes to
- your search engine's suggestion service
- What is sent
- the words typed in the address bar, after a 60 ms pause, without cookies; the answer is cached 5 minutes. Never an address, a scheme, a file path, an
@keyword, a/skill or a key-like string of 32+ letters and digits, never in a keyword's scope, never from a private window, never before the window's session is set up - Through Hide my IP
- yes: the window's own browsing session (its workspace's proxy and the ad blocker too)
- Turn off
- Settings → General → Show search suggestions
Secure DNS
- Goes to
- the chosen DNS-over-HTTPS provider
- What is sent
- site names being looked up
- Through Hide my IP
- the DNS provider sees the lookups
- Turn off
- Privacy & security → Use secure DNS
Privacy signals
- Goes to
- every site you visit, with each request
- What is sent
Sec-GPC: 1(Global Privacy Control; on for a new profile) and, only when you turn it on,DNT: 1; pages also readnavigator.globalPrivacyControl. A signal, not a guarantee: each site decides whether to honour it- Through Hide my IP
- these are headers on your own requests
- Turn off
- Privacy & security → Tell sites not to sell or share my data, Also send "Do Not Track"
Site icons (favicons)
- Goes to
- the address a page names for its own icon: the site itself, or a host it chose
- What is sent
- a request for that icon when Minda shows it: in tabs, and from the address kept with the row in history, bookmarks, New Tab tiles and sidebar apps. A page without a working icon gets its host's first letter, drawn on this computer: no icon service is asked. A private window's icons are fetched in that window's own session (section 4)
- Through Hide my IP
- yes: the browser's own screens use the default session, and a private window's session, both of which Hide my IP covers
- Turn off
- no switch: it is the site's own icon
Update check
- Goes to
- the Minda account server
- What is sent
- a minute after start, every 5 hours and on Settings → About → Check for updates: this copy's version, release channel (stable or beta), system (Windows, macOS, Linux), processor (x64, arm64) and package type (Minda Setup, portable, dmg, deb, rpm, AppImage). No cookie, account, token or install id. Whether this copy takes a release that is rolling out is decided on the computer, from a random number kept in
userData/updates/state.jsonthat is never sent. A new version (Windows, installed by Minda Setup) is then downloaded from the address in its signed release manifest, which the download host sees like any download; other systems only open that address in your browser when you choose Download - Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy (the check and the download)
- Turn off
- only an organization's
AutoUpdatepolicy (security fixes are never optional for the user, as in Chrome)
Minda's shared profiles (Settings → Follow → Use shared profiles, on by default; signed in only; never from a private window)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server; the server itself reads Social Blade
- What is sent
- Find someone for a new person: the profile's address or the name (and your words, only to pick between profiles of one name on this computer) to
/v1/pool/people, answered with a public figure another Minda user already found (then no AI search runs). A saved account's Audience tab: the account's Social Blade page (platform and username) to/v1/pool/blade/..., answered with the numbers the server read from Social Blade's public page (at most once a UTC day an account, for everyone: the server identifies itself to Social Blade as Minda's account server; Instagram's daily table only with the owner's own Social Blade sign-in set on the admin panel). Each morning (01:00 UTC) the server also reads, by itself, the public stats of every account saved in the main pool and each YouTube channel's public feed (its newest videos and Shorts, with their views and likes), kept for everyone: posts are added and updated, never removed. Nothing of yours is sent for it. After a search of your own: the public figure it found (their name, kind, bio, account and website addresses, and their facts with each web fact's page) to the shared profiles, only when an account has 10,000 followers or more or their own Wikidata item was found, and the server keeps a new one only when Social Blade counts one of its accounts with 10,000 or more. Never your notes, the contacts kept, your words to the search, the accounts you took away, or who searched (the server keeps which account added to a profile, for abuse, never shown to other users; in Download your data; Minda staff see it on the admin panel's Social page, where they correct a profile, take a wrong address off or remove it) - Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
- Turn off
- Settings → Follow → Use shared profiles (or sign out): no pool, no Social Blade numbers, the AI search for everyone new
Organisations' logos for People (when a person's facts name a company, team or group with a logo)
- Goes to
- Wikimedia Commons
- What is sent
- each logo's thumbnail read once, without cookies, and kept small on this computer
- Through Hide my IP
- yes: a normal window's browsing session
- Turn off
- Library → People: Forget them
Follower counts of the people you keep (Library → People; only for someone kept with a count, never from a private window)
- Goes to
- each kept account's own site, for the ones Minda reads a count from; Wikidata
- What is sent
- once a day an account at most (10 an hour), its public page or its site's public answer for it, without cookies; once a week a person at most (5 an hour), the handle of one of their kept accounts to Wikidata, which answers with the item's accounts and the follower counts it keeps of them (kept as older points of their history)
- Through Hide my IP
- yes: a normal window's browsing session
- Turn off
- Library → People: Forget them
2. Sent only when you use a feature
AI chat, cloud model (with the date and this computer's time zone, so a phone number without its country code is read as local)
- Goes to
- the provider you picked: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, OpenRouter (openrouter.ai, then the model's vendor), Alibaba Cloud Model Studio for Qwen (dashscope-intl.aliyuncs.com) with your own key, or Minda AI (the Minda server and the vendor of the model you picked: OpenAI or OpenRouter)
- What is sent
- the question, the chat so far, the pages, files, notes and pictures you add, the names of your workspaces while it may open pages (its WORKSPACES list and the tab list's labels), and what its tools read for it: pages, and the passages of your saved pages, notes, highlights and past chats' titles that
search_knowledgefinds; with Compare on, the same to each of the 2 or 3 models picked - Through Hide my IP
- a provider: no, direct; Minda AI (its replies and its model list): no, system proxy
Paid team seats and team policies
- Goes to
- the Minda account server, and Stripe (Checkout and the billing portal open in your browser)
- What is sent
- buying or changing seats: the team and the number of seats (the payer's Stripe customer pays; Minda never sees the card); an admin's team policies (which settings are fixed, nothing else).
/v1/methen carries the paid team's name and policies to every member's computers, where they are applied (a copy stays in the encrypted account cache). The server keeps the seats, the payer, the subscription's status and the policies until the team is deleted; members see who pays - Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
Teams
- Goes to
- the Minda account server, and Resend (the invite email)
- What is sent
- creating a team: its name; an invite: the invitee's email address (the server emails it an 80-bit code, stored only as its SHA-256); Share to team: the scheduled task's title, instruction and settings (≤ 64 KB), a draft until an admin approves it; with "Share results with the team" on for a task (off by default): after each run its status, whether something changed and its first line (≤ 300 characters). Not end-to-end encrypted: the server and every member of the team read these; members see each other's names and email addresses. Shared results are kept 90 days (each team keeps its newest 200) and leave with the member who shared them; a deleted team takes everything
- Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
Student offer and Access credits (Settings → Plans → Offers, the account page's Plans, or the AI chat's manage_offers)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server, and Resend (the code email)
- What is sent
- the student offer: the school email address you type, which the server mails a six-digit code (kept 15 minutes, only as its HMAC) and keeps afterwards only as an HMAC of the address (one school mailbox verifies one account) and the school's domain, with when the verification ends; Access credits: only that they are on and since when. No reason, diagnosis or proof is asked for or kept, and the statement you tick is not stored as text
- Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
The AI looking at your screen (it asks every time)
- Goes to
- the model the AI chat is on: the provider you picked, Minda AI (the Minda server and the model's vendor), or Ollama on 127.0.0.1 (as AI chat)
- What is sent
- after Allow on its card, which names what is captured: one JPEG (at most 1280 px wide) of the primary display or of the one window named; for a model that cannot see pictures only the text Windows OCR reads in it on this computer. Window titles go only after an Allow (a look by name that matches several or none). Never in a background task or schedule (no card can be shown); the chat box's Computer menu (also Settings → AI agent → Access): Off removes the tool
- Through Hide my IP
- as AI chat
Reply drafts for chat messages (off until turned on; a row's Draft replies asks once)
- Goes to
- the model the AI chat is on: the provider you picked, Minda AI (the Minda server and the model's vendor), or Ollama on 127.0.0.1 (as AI chat)
- What is sent
- for one message: the sender's name (or the group's), the message (capped at 1,000 characters), the chat app's name, your "How I write" note (capped at 500) and, when that chat is open in a tab, the chat so far as its page shows it (the last 15 messages, 3,000 characters in all, read and never changed), inside a fence that tells the model it is content to answer, never instructions. By request: each Draft replies click. Automatic (Settings → Notifications → Reply drafts: a master switch and one per chat site, all off by default): each new message on a site that is on, at most 6 a minute and 3 a minute for one site, one attempt per message, not for the conversation you are reading, a message under 2 words, a voice message, a picture or a reaction. With Keep AI on this computer only a model in Ollama is used; built-in AI off, a private window and a policy-blocked provider draft nothing. Up to 3 replies of at most 280 characters come back, links and @-mentions dropped. They are kept in memory only (the newest 200 messages, cleared when Minda quits or the row is removed), never written to disk or synced; the settings stay on this computer. Minda never sends a reply or presses Send: you copy one, or press Put in chat box (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram, TikTok, Discord and Slack), which types it into that chat's message box once it has checked the chat's name and that the box is empty, and you send it yourself. The AI activity log records the model, the size and the chat app's name, never the sender or the words; on Minda AI the server keeps the model, credits and time only
- Through Hide my IP
- the model request: as AI chat
The agent's summary of a finished answer (the agent dock's bubble)
- Goes to
- the model that wrote the answer: its provider, or Ollama on 127.0.0.1 (as AI chat); never Minda AI
- What is sent
- once per reply, when a saved chat finishes while you are not looking at it: the answer (its first 8,000 characters) inside a fence that tells the model it is text to sum up, never instructions, with a request for one sentence; nothing that model did not already have, and nothing else of the chat. Not for an answer short enough to show whole, a Minda AI answer (it would spend credits unasked), a private window or a temporary chat (never saved, so never read), built-in AI off or a provider Keep AI on this computer or a policy turns off. One plain request, no tools, 45 s (90 s for a local model); a failure is not retried. The sentence is kept in memory only (main's and each window's, until Minda quits). The AI activity log records it as "Sum up an answer for the agent's bubble": the model and the size, never the words
- Through Hide my IP
- the model request: no, direct (as AI chat)
Double-check finished work (Settings → AI → Agent models; off until you pick a model)
- Goes to
- the model you picked: its provider with your key, Minda AI (the Minda server and the model's vendor, on your credits) or Ollama on 127.0.0.1 (as AI chat)
- What is sent
- once before a run that took steps ends: the request (with the last four chat turns and a saved agent's task), the run's work record (what its steps read and did, fenced as data) and the answer; one request with no tools, 120 s; a failure is skipped. Not for a reply waiting on you, a rehearsal or a read-only reply
- Through Hide my IP
- the model request: as AI chat
Learning from your corrections (only after a reply or a task of yours in which you steered words in or declined a step)
- Goes to
- the model the chat is on: its provider, or Ollama on 127.0.0.1 (as AI chat); never Minda AI
- What is sent
- the question, the answer (its first 1,500 characters) and your corrections, fenced as data, with the facts already kept so none is repeated; at most 3 suggestions come back, saved only when you accept them. Nothing for a private window, a temporary chat, memory off by a policy or the agent's access
- Through Hide my IP
- the model request: as AI chat
Scheduled AI tasks
- Goes to
- the provider of the model picked when it was scheduled (as AI chat)
- What is sent
- at each run while Minda is open: the instruction, the pages it reads and its last answer (to compare); the alert when something changed is the OS's own notification, on this computer
- Through Hide my IP
- pages: yes (the task's session); the model request: no, direct
Minda AI credit history
- Goes to
- the Minda server
- What is sent
- nothing new: for each Minda AI request the server keeps the model, its credits and the time (never the words), 92 days, deleted with the account; Settings → Account → Minda AI credits → History reads it
- Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
Account data export (only when you press Settings → Account → Download your data)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server only
- What is sent
- the session token, nothing else. The answer is one JSON file of everything the server holds about the account. Minda checks it is that file (an object, at most 5 MB), opens the system's Save dialog and writes it only where you choose, in plain text; it is never sent on, kept in Minda's own data or logged. A private window refuses
- Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
Creator market pictures and cash payouts (only when you press Add, Replace or Remove in Mine → Pictures, or Set up payouts, Check again, Cash out or Cancel in Earnings, or the AI chat's add_picture, payout_setup or cash_out is approved; never from a private window)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server; Stripe's sign-up page opens in a new tab of your browser window, Minda never loads it itself
- What is sent
- a picture: the session token and the one image file you chose (a PNG, JPEG or WebP of at most 512 KB, its type read from its own bytes, base64 in a JSON body); the server keeps it with the listing, and it is public once the listing is listed (a new or changed one holds the listing for a moderator first). The chat's
add_picturereads only the file you said yes to, by the full path in its question. A sign-up or cash-out: the session token (a cash-out names nothing else: the amount is the server's own count of your cashable credits); your identity, bank and tax details are typed on Stripe's page and never reach Minda. The server sends Stripe your account's email and its id (to make the Express account) and keeps only that account's id and what Stripe says of it; each cash-out (credits, dollars, the rate, its status and the staff member who decided it) stays with your account and is in its export. A picture is kept without the camera's or editor's metadata (EXIF, XMP, IPTC, a PNG's text and time); an account with a cash-out waiting is not deleted until it is settled or cancelled - Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
Send feedback (only when you press Send, or the AI's send_feedback card is approved, by you or, with Auto on, by Auto; the main menu, Settings → About, Alt+Shift+I)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server only
- What is sent
- exactly the report the preview showed: a problem's category or "an idea", your words, the versions of Minda, Electron and Chromium, the system and processor, and only what you ticked: the current site's host name (never its address), four settings, a screenshot of the tab (a JPEG of at most 400 KB) and your account's email so the team can reply (the request is then made as your account; otherwise with no session). Never from a private window: the site or a screenshot. The AI's report has no site, settings or screenshot, and your email only when you ask for a reply; its card shows all of it, and with Auto on (the Modes menu) Auto answers the card as it answers every agent card, and the report shows in the reply's steps. The server keeps it a year at most, deleted with the account; the panel's admins read it. Nothing is sent on its own: no telemetry
- Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
Report an AI answer (the flag under a reply, in Minda and Minda SI for Chrome; only when you press Send)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server only
- What is sent
- the category you pick, your words, the app and its version, the system and, while "Include this question and answer" stays ticked (never in a private window), that question (up to 20,000 characters), the answer (up to 40,000), the model and the reply's id; your account's email only when you ask for a reply (the request is then made as your account, otherwise with no session). Kept like Send feedback (a year at most, deleted with the account); the panel's admins read it and its reports for improving Minda use it
- Through Hide my IP

- Through Hide my IP
- not applicable
Pictures the AI makes or changes (create_image, edit_image; Edit & sign's Picture AI: remove background, erase, expand and edit, after its cost card, with the picture and, for a marked part, its mask; Upscale 2x sends nothing)
- Goes to
- with an OpenAI key: OpenAI's Image API with your key; without one: Minda AI, on your credits (the Minda server's
/v1/ai/images/generationsand/edits, then the picture model's vendor: OpenAI, fal.ai or another the server's admins set up) - What is sent
- automatically when the AI makes or changes a picture for your task: the picture's description, the model, the size and how many (1-2); for a change, also the picture it changes (one you attached, or one the chat made). Nothing else from the chat. Minda AI charges account credits; the server keeps only the request's record (model, credits, time), never the description or the picture. The picture (PNG, JPEG or WebP) comes back into the reply and is kept with the saved chat (a private window's or temporary chat's is not); for a follow-up change, main also holds a window's last 4 pictures in memory while the window is open. A copy is written only by Save image or Save to note. Refused before anything is sent with "Keep AI on this computer" or when the
AiProvidersAllowedpolicy leaves the provider out; each request is in AI activity (kind "Make a picture": the prompt's length and the pictures sent, never the words) - Through Hide my IP
- OpenAI with your key: no, direct; Minda AI: no, system proxy
Videos the AI makes (create_video; Minda AI only)
- Goes to
- the Minda server's
/v1/ai/videos, then the video model's vendor (OpenAI, fal.ai or another the server's admins set up), on your credits - What is sent
- automatically when the AI makes a video for your task: the video's description, length, shape and credits the server holds, and the first-frame picture when one is named. While it is made the app asks about the job every 4 s (its id only), then fetches the MP4 once; a video the reply stopped waiting for (Stop, ten minutes, a broken download) is asked about by id every minute until it is here, for a week at most. The server keeps the job's record (model, length, status, the vendor's job id; never the description); a failed job, or one over 30 minutes, gets its credits back. None in a private window; refused before anything is sent with "Keep AI on this computer", built-in AI off or an
AiProvidersAllowedpolicy without Minda AI; each request is in AI activity (kind "Make a video": the prompt's length and the pictures sent) - Through Hide my IP

Listen: a reply read aloud (only when you press it)
- Goes to
- with Minda AI (signed in, and the server offers a voice): the Minda server's
/v1/ai/audio/speech, then the voice model's vendor, on your credits; otherwise nothing leaves: the computer's own voice reads it - What is sent
- the reply's words (its Markdown, code blocks, links' addresses and Sources list left out; at most 20,000 characters) in pieces of up to 4,096 characters, one request each, the next asked for only while the one before plays; the button says the credits first. The server keeps only each request's record; the audio comes back into memory, is played and is never saved. With "Keep AI on this computer", built-in AI off or an

- DuckDuckGo's HTML results; when it answers with a check instead of results, Brave Search's, and as a last resort Bing's (an engine that failed is skipped for 5 minutes)
- What is sent
- the search words, and no cookies
- Through Hide my IP
- yes: the window's own session
A question about today, looked up before the AI answers (2026-10-08: "what AI news today?", a price, a score)
- Goes to
- signed in and in a normal window: the Minda account server, which asks DuckDuckGo (else Brave Search, else Bing) as a browser would, with no cookies; signed out or in a private window: those engines from this window, as above
- What is sent
- the question's words (its first 300 characters), and your session to the account server; the server neither logs nor stores them, and keeps the results in memory for 10 minutes so the same question is not searched twice
- Through Hide my IP
- the window's own fetch: yes; the account server's: no, system proxy (a private window never uses it)
Connectors: calendar (off until connected)
- Goes to
- the host of the calendar's secret iCal address the user pasted (Google Calendar, Outlook)
- What is sent
- a GET of that address, without cookies, when the AI calls
calendar_events, the user picks@→ Calendar, or on Connect / Check; and, only while a "Before each meeting" scheduled task is active (meeting prep), at most every 30 minutes. The read is kept 10 min in memory. The events then go to the AI model like a page; a meeting prep sends its one meeting (title, time, organizer, attendees' names, addresses and answers, location, description) - Through Hide my IP
- yes: the default browsing session
Google Calendar (Settings → Calendar; off until you sign in to Google with an OAuth client you made)
- Goes to
- Google, directly: accounts.google.com to sign in, oauth2.googleapis.com for tokens, www.googleapis.com/calendar for events
- What is sent
- the sign-in through your browser (a loopback address on this computer receives the code; PKCE), then with each token request the client id and secret and the refresh token, and with each Calendar API request an access token. Two-way sync sends the events made, changed or deleted in Minda (title, time, place, notes, repeat), never guests or reminders, and reads the chosen calendar's events with a sync token: a minute after launch, every 15 minutes, 3 seconds after a change made here, when the Calendar page opens if the last sync is older than 2 minutes, and on Sync now. Events made before the sign-in are uploaded once. "Read only" sends nothing but the requests. No guest is ever emailed
- Through Hide my IP
- no, direct (as the Notion connector)
Save to Google (a saved-file card's cloud button, or the AI's save_to_google, which in Auto runs without asking, for a file in the AI's own folder only; off until the Google client is set up)
- Goes to
- Google, directly: accounts.google.com to sign in, oauth2.googleapis.com for tokens, www.googleapis.com/upload/drive for the file
- What is sent
- the one file the user pressed it on or allowed (its name and bytes), converted to a Google Doc, Sheet or Slides when it is one, with an access token for the
drive.filescope (Minda sees only the files it creates). The first time, the sign-in through the browser (loopback + PKCE) with the Google client from Settings → Calendar; then the refresh token with each token request. Nothing is sent otherwise - Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
Gmail for the AI agent (Settings → Calendar → Gmail for the AI agent; off until you connect it with the Google client you made)
- Goes to
- Google, directly: accounts.google.com to sign in, oauth2.googleapis.com for tokens, gmail.googleapis.com for mail
- What is sent
- the sign-in through your browser (loopback + PKCE) for
gmail.readonlyandgmail.composeonly (never deleting, labels or full control), then, only when the AI uses a mail tool for your task (a chat, a background task, a schedule, an automation's read-only agent): a Gmail search built from the tool's words and reads of the mails it lists (headers, preview, text; attachments are never downloaded); a draft or a sent mail with what the AI wrote, to addresses you wrote or the people of the mail it answers (a mail to an address you did not write asks first in a chat; a background run saves a draft instead). What it reads then goes to the AI model you chat with, like a page. Nothing runs on its own: no timer. "Keep AI on this computer" turns drafting and sending off; reading stays (it comes to this computer and to the local model) - Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
Following people (off until you follow someone: the right-click menu of a profile or a link to one, or its address on Library → Following; stop it there)
- Goes to
- the followed profile's own site (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, Threads)
- What is sent
- every 5 minutes (or 10, 15, 30 or 60, chosen on Library → Following), an ordinary page load of each followed profile, with that site's cookies (your sign-in) of the workspace it was followed in, in a hidden page that is never a tab and keeps no history; a YouTube channel's own feed from youtube.com. The site sees an ordinary visit to that profile
- Through Hide my IP
- yes: the workspace's own session (Hide my IP and ad blocking apply)
Finding someone's social accounts (only when you choose "Find …'s social accounts" or "Find latest news" on a profile or a selected name, or Find on Library → People; never in a private window)
- Goes to
- the profile's own site; up to 22 social sites (Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Threads, Telegram, Linktree, GitHub, Twitch, Snapchat, Pinterest, SoundCloud, Medium, Substack, Bluesky, Mastodon, Tumblr, VK, Behance, Dribbble, Vimeo, Patreon); a link-in-bio page the profile links to (Linktree and the like); the sites of the news stories found; the AI's web search engines (DuckDuckGo, then Brave Search, then Bing); Wikidata (
www.wikidata.org: the profile's handle, or for a search by name the name); YouTube (a channel of theirs: its page and its public feed of uploads) and the sites of the videos and photos found (their public oEmbed answers: TikTok's, YouTube's, Vimeo's, Bilibili's; their pages; and their pictures' hosts: YouTube'si.ytimg.com, Instagram's and TikTok's image servers, Wikimedia Commons); the AI model you use in the chat (your own key's provider, Ollama on this computer, or Minda AI on your credits) and a second model beside it for the same question (another provider you set up, else another model of the same one; Minda AI's only when the first is Minda AI, so its credits are spent twice); the site of the profile picture - What is sent
- the profile page read once with the workspace's sign-in (in its open tab, or a hidden page that is never a tab and keeps no history), and its picture downloaded; a few searches for the name (with the handle, or with your words, the profile's own bio phrase, each part of a name written in two scripts, the big sites they have no account on yet by their exact name (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook; three at most), and two for news and discussions about them; Find latest news: only those two, limited to the past month or year), through the window's session and without cookies; each social site asked once whether it has an account under a handle of theirs (or a form of it the site allows), and each account the model picks there asked once more to verify it, without cookies: it sees a visit from your IP address (Hide my IP's when on), never your account there; the accounts their own pages link to or their bios name by site ("TikTok: @…"; 12 at most a search) read once the same way, and when that can't tell, at most 2 read as you see them (never LinkedIn); the link-in-bio page and each news story's page read once, without cookies (public https addresses only); one more search for their videos; a YouTube channel of theirs read for its newest uploads (its page, then its public feed), and each other video's or photo's page read once for its picture and its text (an Instagram post's embed page too, for its whole picture; a post kept before its text was read: once more when their page opens; a Facebook or Instagram photo whose public page shows no picture: once as you see it, signed in, in a hidden page that is never a tab, 4 at most each time their page opens); on their page, a video's own player (YouTube's no-cookie embed, TikTok's, Instagram's, Facebook's, Vimeo's or Bilibili's) loads with its sound when the pointer rests on its picture (never by itself), in the window's session like a page you open (that site's cookies for it go with it), and each picture downloaded once and kept small on this computer, all without cookies (public https only); to the model: the name, the profile's address, title, description, the start of its text, and the candidate accounts, articles, videos and photos with the search results that showed them (listed in the AI activity log as "Find a person's social accounts"); after it, when their own Wikidata item names no company, agency, label, team or group of theirs, one or two more searches for those (the name, with a handle when it is short) whose results go to the same model, which may only quote them; opening a company, team or member from their page asks Wikidata for that item. A private person's phone number, home address or age is never asked for or kept
- Through Hide my IP
- yes: the window's session (Hide my IP applies)
Scrape jobs (the Schedules page; no AI)
- Goes to
- the job's own site: its page and, when asked, the next pages (a redirect or a next-page link to another site is refused)
- What is sent
- a visit to each page from a hidden page of the schedule's workspace, with that workspace's cookies and sign-ins, as when you open it; no history. The rows stay on this computer (the job's note, file and
task-data) unless a destination below sends them - Through Hide my IP
- yes: the workspace's session
Scheduled results: your API (a webhook; off until set on a schedule)
- Goes to
- the address you entered
- What is sent
- after a run with something to say: a POST of JSON with the task's name and id, the run's time, the page's address, the rows by column name (≤ 5 MB; fewer rows and
truncatedbeyond) or an AI run's answer, and the one header you set (e.g.Authorization). Off with theConnectorsEnabledpolicy - Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
Automations: a rule's webhook (off until a rule has one)
- Goes to
- the address you wrote (https, or this computer's own address)
- What is sent
- when the rule's event happens and its conditions hold: a POST of JSON with the rule's name and id, the event's type and time, and the event's fields: site, kind of site, sender and message text (a message), file name, type, site and size (a download), task title, how it ended and the agent (a task); texts up to 2,000 characters each, one request per run, 20 s, no header. Nothing is sent for a private window. Off with the
ConnectorsEnabledpolicy - Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
Automations: a rule that starts an agent (off until a rule has one)
- Goes to
- the provider of the model of the agent (as AI chat; a model in Ollama on this computer sends nothing)
- What is sent
- when the rule fires: the agent's own instructions, the rule's instruction (the event's words are not in it) and the event's fields in a block marked untrusted, as for any background task; the agent only reads, and nobody is asked. Built-in AI off stops it, and "Keep AI on this computer" keeps its model on this computer
- Through Hide my IP
- pages it reads: yes (the task's session); the model request: no, direct
Automations: Rebuild as an HTTP Request (an imported n8n workflow's Inspect; nothing until you press it)
- Goes to
- the provider of the AI chat's model on this computer (a model in Ollama sends nothing); in the cloud, Minda AI through the account server
- What is sent
- once per press: the node's name, type and settings (cut to 4 KB; keys stay tokens, a plain secret or key-shaped value is sent as hidden) and the 4 sign-in kinds; never a key. An accepted draft is kept inside the workflow with the original node
- Through Hide my IP
- no, direct (cloud: the server's own request)
Automations: importing an n8n workflow by its link (nothing until you paste one)
- Goes to
- the address you gave: a template's page on n8n's site, your own n8n (on this computer or its network only after your yes), or an https link to its JSON
- What is sent
- one request for the workflow, read to 1 MB in 15 s; for your own n8n, its API key once, as
X-N8N-API-KEYto that n8n's own address (no redirect followed), never kept, logged or returned - Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
Automations: an imported n8n workflow that runs as it is (nothing until you turn its automation on or press Test)
- Goes to
- the sites its nodes name (an HTTP Request's address, an app's own API)
- What is sent
- what each node sends, with the keys typed in the step's Keys, each key only to the sites its kind allows; a test runs its reads and only shows its writes
- Through Hide my IP
- no, direct (a cloud workflow runs on Minda's server)
Automations: an imported n8n workflow's AI nodes (off until a workflow uses one)
- Goes to
- the site the node names: Wikipedia (
en.wikipedia.org, no key), SerpApi, Wolfram Alpha, Cohere, Mistral, Hugging Face, your Azure OpenAI resource, your Pinecone index, your Supabase project - What is sent
- when the step runs: the agent's search or question, the texts the workflow embeds, stores or looks up, and that service's key from the step's Keys, only to that site. A Calculator sum stays on this computer; an In-Memory store keeps its texts for that run only
- Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
Automations: messages to you (off until a rule has one)
- Goes to
- your Telegram bot (Telegram's Bot API,
api.telegram.org), your mail server (SMTP), Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API - What is sent
- when the rule runs: its text with the event's words filled in, to your own chat with your bot only (Settings → Chatbot pairs it; at most 30 a minute), or to the one address or number you wrote, through the accounts of Scheduled results. Telegram and Meta deliver and keep the messages under their terms. Nothing for a private window
- Through Hide my IP
- no, direct
Automations: page actions (off until a rule has one)
- Goes to
- the site of the tab the rule acts in
- What is sent
- what a visit sends: Open a page loads the https address you wrote in a background tab of a normal window, with that workspace's sign-ins, as if you opened it; Click and Type act on a tab whose address matches (never on chat, social or mail sites, never in a password field, and what happened never picks the page, the thing or the words). Read and Save a screenshot read the tab on this computer (the picture goes to Downloads/Minda automations). Watching things on a page (a rule's own thing and each condition's own thing) reads open tabs on this computer (their text, how many things match, an image's address) and sends nothing; the Watch dialog's "Now:" line reads the page in front once, the same way
- Through Hide my IP
- the page: yes (the tab's own session)
WhatsApp Web auto reply, and since 2026-10-12 Telegram Web, Messenger, Instagram and TikTok in a tab (Settings > Chatbot > Channels; a separate opt-in per site, off by default)
- Goes to
- your bot's selected AI provider, and the site through its signed-in tab
- What is sent
- New normal-window messages only (on the other sites, a new-message alert is the message's receipt; their switches,
chatAutoReplySites, stay on this computer, never synced, emptied by a restore). Instructions, the bot's knowledge (its entries and tagged notes), what it remembers of that person and bounded chat history go to the model; Allow sends with AI disclosure, Ask holds and Block ignores. Same AI/privacy/credit policies as the Telegram chatbot. Verified session/workspace and incoming DOM message receipts bind replies; chat changes, typing or stop/off refuse sending. The setting stays local; backup import turns it off. Consumed-message hashes (at most 500) stay locally, never synced or backed up; live bindings expire after 10 minutes or restart. Clear history removes messages/pending but retains consumed hashes against re-send. - Through Hide my IP
- model requests direct; WhatsApp uses its tab session
Your Telegram chatbot (Settings → Chatbot; off until you connect a bot's token)
- Goes to
- Telegram, and the model the AI chat is on or the bot's own (as AI chat)
- What is sent
- to Telegram: the bot's token with every call; Minda asks for new messages (a long poll of 50 s while Minda runs) and sends each reply to the chat it answers, "Automated reply from <name>'s AI assistant." first at first contact, after 24 hours or after you hand a chat back. To the model, for each message the bot answers or drafts: the bot's instructions, its knowledge (its own entries and the notes with its tag, the passages that best match the conversation, 6,000 characters at most), what it remembers of that person (a summary and the facts they told it; Remember people, on by default) and the chat's last 20 messages, fenced as content; with Remember people on, a chat's messages (40 at most) go to the same model once after 16 new ones or 6 quiet hours to update that memory (20 an hour at most; the AI activity log names it "Update your chatbot's memory of a chat"); at most 40 runs a chat and 120 an hour. Once its entries hold 3,000 characters, each entry (its title and text, fenced as content) goes once after it changes to the same model, which writes the search terms that help find it (30 an hour at most; the AI activity log names it "Index your chatbot's knowledge", never the words); the terms only help ranking and are never sent to a person. A chat on Ask, a reply that fails its check (a link, @handle, price, percentage, date or time your instructions and notes do not have), quiet hours and the reply limits keep a reply for you to send or dismiss; a chat on Block gets nothing (and starts no automation), and past the model's run limits a message is only logged. Chat Automation (turned on in Telegram) also brings the bot your own chats' messages. Telegram delivers and keeps the messages under its terms. Built-in AI off answers nothing; with Keep AI on this computer only a model in Ollama answers

Your Discord, Slack and Feishu / Lark chatbots (since 2026-10-17; Settings → Chatbot → Channels; each off until you paste your own bot's token or app keys)
- Goes to
- that platform's official API: Discord (
discord.com, its Gatewaygateway.discord.gg), Slack (slack.com, its Socket Mode address), Feishu or Lark; and the model the AI chat is on or the bot's own (as AI chat) - What is sent
- to the platform: the token or app keys with every call, one open connection while Minda runs and the channel answers (paused, stopped or disconnected closes it), and each reply to the chat it answers, the AI notice first, as the Telegram bot. It reads direct messages to your bot, and in a server, channel or group only messages that mention it; other messages are never kept or sent anywhere. To the model: the same as the Telegram bot (instructions, the best-matching knowledge, what it remembers of that person, the chat's last 20 messages, fenced as content). Your LINE, Google Chat, Microsoft Teams and Nextcloud Talk chatbots (since 2026-10-17; Settings → Chatbot → Channels; each off until you paste your own bot's keys, and only while signed in to your Minda account)
- Goes to
- Minda's account server (its relay) and that platform's official API: LINE, Google Chat (
chat.googleapis.com,oauth2.googleapis.comand Google's public signing keys), Microsoft Teams (login.microsoftonline.com,login.botframework.comand the conversation's Bot Framework service address), or your own Nextcloud server; and the model the AI chat is on or the bot's own (as AI chat) - What is sent
- to the account server: your account and a random address id, kept as its hash. The platform posts each message to that address; the server keeps its exact bytes and the platform's proof headers until this computer takes them, at most 10 minutes, then deletes them, and it never checks or reads them and holds none of your keys. In a group the platform may also send messages that do not mention the bot: they pass the same way and are dropped unread on this computer. To the platform: the keys, or a token made from them, with each reply, and each reply to the chat it answers, the AI notice first. To the model: the same as the Telegram bot

Cloud automations (Pro and team seats, and the unlisted Workspaces and Max for the accounts that have them; off until you save a rule to run in the cloud)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server; then what the rule does: the page a web check reads, Resend (an email to your account's address), the https address of a webhook
- What is sent
- the rule (its trigger, conditions, actions and their texts; a webhook's address sealed by the server), kept until you delete it or the account; each run's log entry (what ran and how it went, never an event's words; 200 an account); the notices your rules leave (100 an account), which the app fetches every 60 s while a cloud rule is on and shows as Minda notices; and for a web check, the text it last read (at most 2,000 characters), kept with the rule to compare the next reading with. The n8n credentials you save on the account page (200 at most: each one's kind and name, and each field sealed by the server for your account, never shown again) are sent only when a workflow that picks one runs, to that kind's sites, and go when you delete them or the account. The keys typed for an n8n workflow imported to the cloud are sealed for your account and that workflow the same way, each sent only to its own sites; one goes with Remove in the step's Keys tab, all of them with the workflow or the account. A web check is the server's own request: the site sees the server, never your cookies or IP. Whoever calls a rule's webhook address sends up to 16,000 bytes, used for that run. Pages you are signed in to are never read there: those rules stay on this computer. Settings → Account → Download your data includes the rules, runs and notices

- the app's requests to the server: no, system proxy
This computer's automations on your account page (Settings → Automations → Cloud → Edit on the web; off by default and per computer: a sync, a backup, the AI chat and a private window never turn it on; signed in only)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server
- What is sent
- while the switch is on: a copy of this computer's automations as Settings shows them (each rule's name, trigger and its settings, such as an element rule's page address and selectors (its own thing's and each condition's own), how often it checks and its hours, its conditions with the values you wrote, and every step with its texts and messages; never a webhook's address or a step's API key, which stay sealed on this computer), the run log's last 200 runs (times, rule names, outcomes and our short reasons; never an event's words), the steps this computer can run and the computer's name, filed under sync's device tag (a hash, never the device id). Sent at once when it is turned on, then 3 s after a rule changes (at most once a minute when only the run log changed). Every 60 s while Minda runs (at once when the sync stream says so) Minda asks for the changes made on the account page and answers each one applied or refused, with the refusal's sentence; the server applies none: this computer makes each change through its own editor's checks (a rule changed here since is refused, not written over) and lists each applied one in the notifications. The server keeps the copy until the switch is turned off while signed in, which deletes the copy and its waiting changes (a copy made before a sign-out stays until then), until you remove that computer on the account page (Automations → Remove from the web), or until 90 days pass without Minda there looking for changes, and keeps at most 10 computers an account (the one seen longest ago goes first); an answered change is kept 7 days, one never taken 30 days. Plaintext on the server, like cloud automations
- Through Hide my IP
- no, system proxy
This computer's People on your account page (Settings → Follow → Show on your account page; on by itself while signed in since 2026-10-10, per computer; never while this computer keeps your data on itself only unless you turn it on there; never from a private window; a sync or a backup never changes it)
- Goes to
- the Minda account server
- What is sent
- while it is on and you are signed in: a copy of Library → People as this computer shows it (each person's profile, picture, accounts and their counts, growth, facts, your notes and their published contacts; their videos', photos' and logos' pictures and 60 days of numbers), the profiles and posts you follow with their numbers, your Use shared profiles and Reports prepared by settings and the computer's name, filed under sync's device tag (a hash, never the device id). Sent when signing in turns it on, then only when the copy changed (at most 2,000 people, 64 MB an account). The account server makes the account page's changes itself on that copy, with this computer off too: a save, a forget or a follow at once, and a search with Minda AI on the account's credits, which sends the person's name, accounts and the words searched to Minda AI's model and the server's web search, and reads the public pages it finds without your sign-ins. Every 60 s (every 10 minutes while the sync stream is healthy, at once when it says so) Minda takes those changes in, and runs Check now itself. While no computer of the account that follows them runs Minda, the server reads the public feed of each YouTube channel the copy follows (
www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml, and the channel's public page once when its id is not known yet) every 30 minutes, from the server's own address, without cookies or a sign-in: YouTube sees the server ask for that channel, never your account. Their new videos go to your account's notifications (a phone that asked for results at once gets a push) and the copy's follows; Minda takes those looks in when it runs again, so none is told twice. Check now on the account page reads a YouTube channel this way at once while that computer is off. The server keeps the copy until the switch is turned off or this computer keeps your data on itself only while signed in (which deletes the copy and its waiting changes), until you remove that computer on the account page, or until 90 days pass without Minda there looking for changes; at most 10 computers an account. Plaintext on the server - Through Hide my IP

Scheduled results: email (off until an account is set up)
- Goes to
- your mail server (SMTP)
- What is sent
- TLS or STARTTLS with the certificate checked (plain text only to a server on this computer); your user name and password; to the addresses you set: the summary, the rows as text (≤ 6,000 characters) with an Excel attachment, or an AI run's answer. Saving or testing the account signs in, or sends one test message. Off with the

Scheduled results: WhatsApp (off until a number is set up)
- Goes to
- Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API
- What is sent
- your access token; to each number you set: the task's name, the summary and the first rows (≤ 3,500 characters) or an AI run's answer; outside WhatsApp's 24-hour window, your approved template with the summary. Saving the account reads its phone number; a test sends one message. Meta delivers and keeps the messages under its terms. Off with the

Connectors: Notion (off until connected)
- Goes to
- api.notion.com
- What is sent
- the integration token (Bearer) and, when the AI calls
notion_search/notion_reador on Connect / Check: the search words, or the page id and its block ids. Read-only: only GETs andPOST /v1/search. The page text then goes to the AI model - Through Hide my IP
- no, direct (the token names the account anyway)
Integrations: MCP servers (off until you add one in Settings → Integrations)
- Goes to
- the program you added (started on this computer, only on first use) or the web address you added
- What is sent
- the AI's arguments for the tool (tool calls run automatically without permission prompts) and the tool's answer, which then goes to the AI model like a page. Signing in to a web address opens its sign-in page in your default browser; Minda then talks to that service's sign-in servers directly (to register, to exchange the code and to renew), and keeps the tokens encrypted here. A program gets only the variables you gave it. Off with the
McpServersEnabledpolicy; "Keep AI on this computer" refuses every server not marked local. Minda's own tools write a file to your chosen folder or send one request to the address the AI was given (automatically). A sound or video clip pasted into the agent's chat box (only when you paste or drop one)
- Goes to
- the voice assistant's recognizer, as in the next row (or Windows' own recognizer with AI kept on this computer)
- What is sent
- the clip's sound, at most 30 s, as a 16 kHz WAV; the text it hears goes to the chat as an attachment

Minda Live, a live conversation (only after the wake word, until about 15 s of quiet; the "Live conversation" switch)
- Goes to
- the Minda server's
/v1/ai/realtime, then the realtime model its operator turned on: Google (gemini-3.8-live, the Gemini API), Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (qwen3.8-omni-flash-realtime, its Singapore region by the preset) or OpenAI; a Cantonese conversation goes to Qwen's when it is on, as Gemini lists no Cantonese; on your Minda AI credits - What is sent
- what the microphone hears, continuously while the conversation is open (not only utterances), as 24 kHz audio (the server passes it to Qwen at 16 kHz); Minda's language when it is a language code (for Qwen's Cantonese voices and the Cantonese route); Minda's prompt with the page's title and address, the conversation's recent turns and the facts you had the AI remember (not in a private window, nor under the
AiMemoryEnabledpolicy); the words of an action's result: when you ask for them, your notifications (up to eight unread, or the latest three: each app, sender, message preview up to 300 characters and how long ago), the briefing, the calendar, your tabs or saved chats' titles, and a page's answer (the page's text goes to the command model as for a spoken page question, its answer to Live); in a private window those of your own data are read by this computer's voice instead and the conversation closes. A reply you say ("reply to 2: on my way") is typed into that chat's box on this computer, never sent. The server relays it and keeps only each reply's record (tokens and credits), never the audio or the words; AI activity records the conversation without its words. Minda voice assistant (only while it is on)
- Goes to

api.openai.com:gpt-transcribe, elsewhisper-1; commandsgpt-4o-mini) with the AI chat's OpenAI key; without one, Minda AI on your credits (the Minda server's/v1/ai/audio/transcriptionsand a standard Minda AI chat model, then their vendors; each utterance is a request of at least 1 credit, and the server keeps only its record) - What is sent
- each utterance the microphone picks up, as a 16 kHz WAV of at most 12 s, so it can hear its name ("Minda"): there is no on-device wake word (Chromium's recognizer needs Google's service, which Electron lacks). Silence, sounds under 250 ms and unbroken sound over 12 s are never sent; an utterance goes at its first pause of 300 ms, before it is known to have ended, so its words come sooner: when you speak on, that request is ended (Minda AI charges nothing for it) and the utterance goes again when it ends, so the start of one that the 12 s limit later drops can have been sent, and AI activity lists each request; what you say while it speaks is sent too, so you can cut in or say "stop" (with Interrupt by talking off, only "stop" or "Minda, …" acts on it). The words so far of what you are saying show in the pill as you speak: in English, Windows' own recognizer hears them on this computer and nothing more is sent; in another language (or with no recognizer here) the utterance so far, at most its last 20 s, goes to the same speech-to-text about once a second, on Minda AI billed by its length with the fractions carried over to the next request, and not listed in AI activity on its own (the utterance's own request is). What a command means is decided on this computer when it is one of the browser's own functions (tabs, scrolling, zoom, panels, notes, settings, the time); only a question, or a command nothing there is sure of, also sends its words and the active page's title and address to the model (with no OpenAI key, a model on another key of yours that calls tools, the AI chat's first, before Minda AI), and the page's text only for a question about the page. With them go the last turns of the conversation with it (held in memory for 30 minutes; and, unless "Save voice conversations in History" is off, kept as that day's "Voice" chat in History on this computer (
userData/ai-chats/voice-YYYY-MM-DD.json: what you said, its answers, the agent's reports), which syncs as chats do, follows theAiChatRetentionDayspolicy and goes with Delete all chats; never for a private window, nor when a policy turns saved chats off. When what you say refers to an earlier conversation ("yesterday", "上次"), the latest earlier Voice chat's last turns and up to three matching saved chats go along as notes) and, unless the window is private or theAiMemoryEnabledpolicy is off, the facts you had the AI remember (up to 1,200 characters: those that share words with what you said first, then the newest). About 2 minutes after a conversation goes quiet, its last turns (and the facts already saved) go once more to the same model to suggest up to three facts worth remembering; they wait in Settings → AI → Memory → Suggested by the AI until you accept one (not in a private window, nor under theAiMemoryEnabledpolicy, nor with "Save voice conversations in History" off). Minda Live starts with the latest of the day's voice talk (up to 1,200 characters). When a task it handed to the AI agent ends, the agent's answer (up to 6,000 characters) goes back to the chat model that wrote it, to be told back in a few sentences; nothing goes to another provider for that. What it reads from your own data when you ask (notifications with their senders and previews, the briefing, the calendar, tabs, saved chats' titles) is said in the same natural voice as every reply, so those words go to the voice service too (since 2026-10-08); in a private window, or with the natural voice off, this computer's voice reads them. Commands on Minda AI go to its command model for voice before a model on another key of yours (since 2026-10-08). This computer's voice is made on this computer (Windows' speech engine) and nothing of it is sent. With "Keep AI on this computer" nothing is sent: on Windows, Windows' own speech recognizer hears on this computer and a model in Ollama answers what the browser can't decide itself (other systems: the voice assistant is refused). Refused before anything is sent when theAiProvidersAllowedpolicy leaves both OpenAI and Minda AI out; each request is in AI activity (kinds voice and voice-command: the audio's length or the characters, never the words). The summary at Stop: the chat model picked in the AI chat, else the first ready one the AI switches and policies allow, wherever that model runs - What is sent
- the meeting tab's sound and the microphone, each as a 16 kHz mono WAV of the speech in a 25-35 s window (silence is never sent); the words come back and are written into a note on this computer as the meeting goes. At Stop the note's transcript (in parts when it is long) goes to that chat model for the summary, the decisions and the to-dos. Audio is held in memory only until its words are in the note and is never saved. With "Keep AI on this computer" only Windows' recognizer hears and only a model on this computer (Ollama) writes the summary, so nothing is sent; with built-in AI off nothing is recorded; never in a private window; the
AiProvidersAllowedpolicy leaves out the routes it does not name. Everyone sees your nickname, your posts, your level and badges; a post your AI writes is signed with its name and your nickname. A view of a thread counts your address in the server's memory for an hour, not on disk. The server keeps your posts until you or a moderator remove them, notifications (the newest 500) and points; deleting the account takes your name off every post ("Former member"). Tasks from your phone (only after you pair a phone: Settings → Account → Your phone)
- Goes to

Sealed like everything you sync, so with your own passphrase the server can't read them, and with the Minda-managed key it can. A task is deleted from the server as soon as this computer looks at it; answers and tasks for a computer that never came online are deleted after a week. A task runs only when a phone you paired here signed it, as a background task nobody watches would (Minda's own tools, and only the connected apps its words name); what it sends to an AI provider is the AI chat's row. Minda on your phone is a web app the account server serves, so whoever controls that server could change its code, which holds the phone's key; the app from the stores keeps its own code

Coding agents (developer bridge)

- what it asks for: the pages its task opens (text, element lists, PNG screenshots, extracted tables), and, only after the user allows it in Minda, the user's own tabs and history results
- Through Hide my IP
- not applicable (loopback; the pages themselves load like any tab)
Page actions of the AI agent (click, type, press keys) happen in the page, like your own input. All agent runs use Auto mode: chat, saved agents, background tasks, schedules and delegated agents execute their tool actions without permission cards, including navigation to new web addresses, connected tools, media generation, memory changes and calendar writes. Actions can send data, change pages, save files and spend credits. One step still waits for the user's OK while Ask before paying is on (Settings → AI agent → Access, on by default): a press that pays, buys or places an order, and card or bank details typed. The agent's tool scope, Access capabilities, blocked sites, organization policies, plan allowances, run limits, Stop and Take over still apply. The agent opens web addresses only, never a file: or extension page. In a site-scoped background task, pages and background reading stay within its sites; history, bookmarks and saved-knowledge searches return only results with permitted source URLs, and AI memory is omitted. Explicitly supplied context and connected-tool results may still enter the model prompt. Web search, text translation and connected-app calls run automatically. Whole-page translation remains unavailable in a scoped task. A chat's run-limit continuation question is separate from tool approval.
The AI agent runs in your own browser (the card on Settings → AI agent → Agents):
- Your tabs, your sign-ins: a chat reply acts in the window's own tabs, and a background task or a schedule's run in off-screen pages of the window's (or the schedule's) workspace, with that workspace's cookie partition, so its sign-ins apply, and a chat reply opens a page in another workspace (or gives a helper one) only when the user's own words name it or ask for every workspace or account, or any one while Auto is on in the chat box's Modes menu; a private window's own in-memory session is used instead. The Minda server has no module that loads pages or runs an agent: for the agent it only forwards Minda AI model requests.
- What the model sees: the AI chat rows above. A model in Ollama sends nothing out; Minda AI passes through the Minda server, which records each request's model, tier, credits and time, not the messages. The agent's web search and translation are their own rows, and "Keep AI on this computer" refuses them.
- Sites: a site the user blocked is refused before a page loads or is read; an allowed site's page actions need no card.
- Stop and Take over: Take over moves a task's page into the window's tab strip and the task waits.
- Log: the AI agent activity log row in section 3: the tool, the host, the result, who started it and the saved agent's name, never a label, an argument, page text or typed text; none for a private window or a temporary chat.
- Not claimed: that private windows are refused. The agent runs in one, with no log lines, no saved chat and no schedule; only the coding-agent bridge never reaches them.
Coding agents (Settings → Developer, off by default; the DeveloperAutomationEnabled policy can forbid it): while on, Minda listens on 127.0.0.1 at a random port, and only a request with the bearer token from userData/automation.json is served; one with an Origin header (a web page) or another Host (DNS rebinding) is refused. A task's tabs are ordinary background tabs of the window's active workspace, so its pages use the user's sign-ins there. A page action (click, type, press a key) waits for the user's Allow in the window unless "Ask before actions" is off; one of the user's own tabs and the history always ask ("Allow for 10 minutes" covers that task and scope). Private windows are never reachable. Settings lists the recent calls (tool, task, site, result), kept in memory only; page text and typed text are never kept.
Keep AI on this computer (Settings → AI → Privacy, or the AiLocalOnly policy) makes the whole AI rows above local: main refuses every cloud provider, Minda AI, the voice assistant's cloud speech-to-text (it hears with Windows' own recognizer instead), and the agent's search, translation, connector and picture tools before anything is sent (at the one place every model request passes); Listen then reads with the computer's own voice. Not even a model list is fetched from a cloud provider while it is on.
Connectors (Settings → Connectors, off until the user pastes an address or a token): the calendar and Notion are only read, never written. The address and the token are safeStorage blobs that never go back to the UI, into a log or into what the model sees (it sees the host and the events, or the page text). "Keep AI on this computer" refuses the three connector tools before anything is fetched, and the ConnectorsEnabled policy turns connectors off entirely. Remove deletes the saved address or token from this computer; revoking the integration or resetting the calendar's secret address is done at Notion or the calendar.
Calendar (Settings → Calendar): Minda's own calendar is a table in browser.db on this computer, like notes. The AI's calendar tools work on it with the local model too: they are not "connector" tools and send nothing anywhere; adds, changes and deletes run automatically for your task. Signed in to Google Calendar, the events sync with the account as the row above lists. The OAuth client id and secret and the tokens are one safeStorage blob that never goes back to the UI, into a log or into what the model sees, and is never in a backup. Signing out revokes the token at Google, forgets the blob and this computer's copies of Google's events (they stay in Google); a change that never reached Google stays here. The ConnectorsEnabled policy turns Google Calendar off; the local calendar keeps working. Calendar events do not sync with a Minda account.
AI activity (Settings → AI → Privacy → AI activity) lists every model request: the provider, the model, the host it went to, how many characters and pictures, which pages and attachments by title, and whether it came from a private window. The words themselves are never kept. It is stored in userData/ai-activity.json (5,000 entries, 90 days); a private window's requests stay in memory. "Clear browsing data" with history clears it too, and so does its own Clear button.
Temporary chats (the chat header's ghost button; always in private windows) are never saved: main refuses to write them, and the AI neither reads nor writes its memory in them.
Organizations can fix all of this with policies: see docs/enterprise-policies.md.
Minda on your phone (<account server>/app/, Settings → Account → Sync shows the address): a web app the account server serves, on every plan. It signs in with an email code, pulls what you sync as the server holds it (sealed), and decrypts it in the phone's browser with the key Minda keeps (sent to the phone's session), or with your passphrase (scrypt and AES-256-GCM, the same as on a computer). With a passphrase the server sees only sealed items. On the phone, in that browser's storage for the server's site: the session token, the sealed items (files included), the server's salt and key check, and, only if you tick "Remember on this phone", the two keys made from the passphrase as non-extractable keys (never the passphrase or the key it makes). Decrypted text lives in memory only. The app's offline cache holds its own files, never an API reply. Sign out revokes the session and deletes all of it; "Lock" forgets the keys. The page sends nothing to anyone but the account server (its security policy allows no other host).

- Where
userData/made-pages/<id>.html+index.json(name, times, size); a private window's in memory only, gone with the window- Protection
- OS account permissions. Each page runs offline in an in-memory session of its own: every request that is not the page itself is cancelled before it is sent, its CSP has
connect-src 'none',frame-src 'none',form-action 'none', anything that skips webRequest (preconnect sockets, WebRTC) meets a dead proxy, and it gets no Minda IPC or permissions; what it stores (localStorage) lasts until Minda closes. A link you click opens in a normal tab; "Save as HTML" writes the page with that CSP inside - Cleared by
- Library → Your pages → Delete (Clear browsing data keeps them, like notes)
Saved call audio sends nothing anywhere: the page's call watch mixes the call's sound in the page, hands the pieces to Minda on this computer, and they are written to the file; no request carries them, no sync, no AI model, no Minda server. It records only calls placed or taken in a call-site tab of Minda; a phone call runs in your system's phone app and a WeChat call in the WeChat app, which Minda cannot hear or record. The switch says that in many places everyone on a call must agree before it is recorded: tell the other person at the start; when Minda talks for you it says "This call is recorded." in its first sentence. A call list records only while the switch is on, and only the calls it places on this computer.
Text from images (Windows OCR), extract data, reading documents (pdf.js in a worker), the tab organizer and passage ranking all run on this computer and send nothing. So does "Save as PDF": the answer is printed by Chromium in a hidden page with JavaScript off, a policy that loads nothing, and a session of its own that cancels every request but its own temp file. Reject cookie pop-ups (Settings → Privacy, off by default) runs in the page on this computer: built-in rules click the site's own reject controls and read its consent cookie to check. No address, page content or result leaves the computer; the outcome stays in memory for the tab.
Send feedback (the main menu, Settings → About) shows the whole report first; Copy and Save as file keep it on this computer, and only Send hands it to the Minda server (section 2). The site's host name (never its address), a few settings, a screenshot and your email go in only if you tick them, and a private window's report never names the site or has a screenshot.
4. Private windows
In-memory cookie partitions, no history, no saved chats, passwords never saved, no extensions, no scripts from skills, no search suggestions (what is typed in its address bar goes nowhere until Enter); a private window's AI chat is temporary. Closing the window drops all of it. Sync can't be turned on, run or changed from a private window, a private window gets no team data and can't create, join or change a team, and community skills can be browsed there but never installed, shared or reported. A page the AI makes there is kept in memory and goes with the window. The AI agent keeps no activity log lines for a private window, Record a workflow does not start in one, and record_gif is not available in one. Minda's own screens run in the normal session, so they never load a private tab's site icon themselves (that request could carry your normal cookies for the icon's host and stay in the disk cache): the icon is fetched in the private window's own in-memory session and handed to the screen as data:. An allowance to open a site over plain HTTP (below) lasts only as long as the private window. The shield's blocked counts for a private window's pages stay with those pages and never add to the all-sites total; a site's ad-blocking exception made there is still saved in the profile. Its sidebar lists your saved apps, read only: one opens there in the private window's own memory-only session, signed out, and shows only that window's unread dots; it cannot pin a page to the sidebar, and main refuses its adds, changes, moves and removals. Automations never run for a private window: its messages, downloads and tasks are not events, its settings page reads an empty list and changes nothing, and its AI chat cannot make, list or change one. Its pages on social sites show no logo stacks beside the people kept on Library → People: main answers a private window's tab with nothing, and its pages never learn who is kept. Notes, highlights and bookmarks saved from one are kept like any others (by design) and so sync like any others.
5. Known gaps, stated plainly
- Hide my IP covers browsing only: Minda's own downloads (lists, Tor, extensions), the AI providers, Whisper, the Web Store and the Notion connector are reached directly, so those services see your IP. The Minda server's other requests (the account, sync, teams, Minda AI's replies, pictures, videos and voice, the update check, feedback, the skills gallery), an update's download and Minda Live (an HTTP proxy that needs no sign-in) go through this computer's own proxy settings when it has any, and direct when it has none; never through Hide my IP, Tor, a proxy you added in Minda or a team's proxy.
- Minda trusts the root certificates your operating system trusts (since 2026-10-10): for the Minda server's requests, which leave through the same network engine as a tab, and for every other connection Minda's main program makes (the AI providers, Minda Live, downloads), which add the system's roots to the ones that come with Minda and any named in
NODE_EXTRA_CA_CERTS. Before, those connections failed behind a company proxy or an antivirus that inspects HTTPS, because its root is in the system's store and not in the list that comes with Minda. On Windows only the certificates in its root stores count (Trusted Root Certification Authorities, the computer's and yours, and Third-Party Root Certification Authorities), never the Intermediate Certification Authorities store, where any program running as you can add one with no prompt. Until Windows' list is read, about half a second after Minda starts (or the whole run, if it cannot be read), these connections trust only the roots that come with Minda. The price: whoever can add a root to the system's root store can now read this traffic, as they can any browser's on the computer: an administrator or a program running as one, a company's policy (Group Policy, device management), and you, or a program that gets you to accept the one Windows prompt for your own store (on macOS and Linux, the system's own rules). There is no switch for it: remove the root from the system's store. - The Minda server's requests follow this computer's proxy settings, automatic detection included (since 2026-10-10): the account's token, sync and its change notices, Minda AI's content and Minda Live go through a fixed proxy, a PAC script or WPAD when the system names one. Windows turns "Automatically detect settings" on by default, so on a network you do not control a device that answers WPAD can make itself the proxy: it sees which Minda hosts are reached and when. If it asks for a Windows sign-in, the network engine answers on its own and the device can collect a NetNTLMv2 hash of your account from background calls (the hourly refresh, the sync stream), with no prompt. TLS still protects the content. To avoid it, turn off Settings → Network & internet → Proxy → Automatically detect settings on networks you do not trust.
- A free proxy is a stranger's server: a location picked in Hide my IP connects through a free public proxy whose operator is unknown; it sees every host name you open and any plain-http page in full. The location list asks first ("Use this proxy" or "Keep Tor"), and the switch itself means Tor. On a system with no built-in Tor (macOS, Windows on ARM) the switch connects to a free proxy without that question.
- Your own proxy servers and a team proxy see what they carry (Settings → Privacy → Proxy servers): a proxy you add for some sites or every site, and the one a paid team's admin sets for its members (the
ManagedProxypolicy), sees the host names of the pages it carries, and anything not encrypted (plain-http pages) in full; an HTTPS proxy also encrypts the connection to itself. Like Hide my IP they cover browsing only. A proxy's sign-in is kept on this computer, encrypted by the OS, sent only to that proxy when it asks, and never shown again; no sign-in travels in a team's policy. A site sent to a proxy never falls back to a direct connection when the proxy fails. - Minda AI's media goes on to its vendors: a picture's description (and a picture to change), a reply read aloud and the voice assistant's speech pass through the Minda server to the model's vendor (OpenAI, fal.ai, Microsoft Azure AI Speech for the native voices of languages other than English, or another the server's admins picked), which handles them under its own terms. The Minda server keeps only each request's record, and its error log may hold a vendor's refusal message.
- A social site can tell whom you keep on Library → People: the logo stacks beside a kept person's name are drawn in the site's own page. Nothing is sent anywhere: which profiles are kept is looked up on this computer, only for the profiles of the site the page is on, and the page's scripts cannot read a stack (a closed shadow root, its clicks and hovers stopped inside it). They can still see that an element appeared after a name. The setting
socialBadgesturns the stacks off (on by default; its switch is not in Settings yet). - Calendar events and Notion pages carry other people's words (invitations, shared pages): the AI gets them fenced as data, never as instructions, but they still go to the model you use.
- Mail is other people's words, and the AI can send mail: what the AI reads in Gmail goes to the model you use, fenced as data, and a mail can still try to steer it. The AI never sends to an address that neither you wrote nor the mail it answers named, and a mail to an address you did not write waits for your Send in a chat (a background run saves a draft instead), but what it writes in a reply you approve is the model's text: read the card before pressing Send.
- Your chatbot answers strangers with your notes and its knowledge: the bot's instructions, its knowledge entries and the notes with its tag go to the model for every message it answers, and what it replies is the model's text. An answer you approve from Learning becomes knowledge every person can be told, so take personal details out of it first. What it remembers of a person goes back only into that person's chat. Its check holds back a reply with a link, price, date or time your instructions and notes lack, and a message can still try to steer it: keep in those notes only what you would tell anyone who writes to the bot. Telegram keeps the messages under its terms.
- Cloud automations are plaintext on Minda's server, like team data: the rules, their texts and the notices they leave can be read by whoever runs or breaks into the server. A webhook's address and a web check's page are the server's to reach, so a page that changes what it shows to a server is checked as the server sees it.
- Saved credentials reach a site's pages on each load of a site with saved logins, login form or not.
- AI memory is not fenced in the prompt: a malicious memory that you approve could steer later replies. Agent memory changes run automatically, and Settings → AI lists memories for deletion.
- Saved AI chats and history are plain files readable by anyone with your OS account.
- Sync's default key is Minda's: with the Minda-managed key (the default, so a sign-in with Google, Apple or a password is all it takes), Minda's server holds the key wrapped with its own secret and could read, alter or forge what you sync, as Chrome's default sync does. A forged page script or community prompt still arrives off and marked for review; synced settings pass the same checks as the Settings page. Set your own passphrase to make it end to end. The same goes for handoff: with Minda's key the server could read or fake computer names, shared tabs and sent tabs; removing a computer takes it off the list but doesn't lock it out.
- Sync hides content, not activity: Minda's server sees your IP (direct), how many items of each kind you sync, their sizes and when they change. With a passphrase it can't read, alter or forge an item, but a hostile server could withhold one or serve an older copy of it. A weak passphrase can be guessed offline by whoever holds the server's data: Minda asks for at least 10 characters.
- The account data export is a plain file: Settings → Account → Download your data saves everything the server holds about a signed-in account as one JSON file (account, devices, plan, Minda AI usage by model, teams, shared skills, sync by kind and size; never a token, hash or key) where you choose. It is not encrypted, and it holds your email and Stripe customer id: keep it somewhere you trust. It covers the server's copy only; history, bookmarks, passwords and notes stay on this computer (Import & export backs them up). Deleting the account (Settings → Account) also deletes its Stripe customer; Stripe keeps the invoices tax law requires, and the staff log keeps what staff did to an account for up to a year.
- Signing in tells whether an address has a Minda account: after Continue, the dialog asks the server whether the email has an account and a password, to show the right next step (as Google, Microsoft and ChatGPT do), so anyone can learn whether an address uses Minda. It is limited per IP, and never says more than that.
- Clearing history clears it everywhere it syncs: with sync on, pages you delete from history (or clear) are deleted on your other computers too; pages older than 90 days don't sync.
- A computer away from sync for over a year keeps what was deleted meanwhile: Minda on a computer that last synced more than a year ago keeps its copy of an item deleted elsewhere since, because the deletion's sealed record is emptied after a year and an emptied deletion is not applied over what the computer has; Minda SI for Chrome and the phone remove it.
- The staff log keeps the address of an account staff acted on: when Minda's staff edit, suspend, sign out or delete an account, the email address of that account is kept with the action for up to a year, also after the account is deleted.
- Team data is plaintext on Minda's server: team names, members' names, emails and roles, shared workflows and shared results are stored as they are, so whoever runs or breaks into the server can read them, as can every member of the team. Keep secrets out of a task you share; results are shared only when you turn it on for that task.
- A paid team's admins set policies on your computers while you have a seat in it: they can keep AI local, allow only some providers, turn off saved chats, memory, sync, extensions, connectors or coding agents, and delete saved chats after some days. They see none of your data; this computer's own policies win, and leaving the team (or the seats ending) lifts them.
- A shared skill is public: unpublishing takes it out of the community and off the
/skillspage, not off the computers of people who installed it. Minda's server keeps who installed and who reported each skill (one row per account, deleted with the skill or the account) and never shows it to anyone. - Minda on your phone keeps its session token in the phone browser's storage, readable by anyone who can use that browser; with "Remember on this phone" they can read what you sync there too. Signing out elsewhere ("sign out everywhere") ends the phone's session; a phone that signs out while offline deletes its data but can't end its session on the server.
- The default-browser answer is the app's word: the server can't check it, so a patched app can claim the bonus. It is capped at +100 Minda AI credits a month, whatever is sent.
- A page the AI made can put what it holds in a link: it sends nothing by itself, but a link you click opens in a normal tab like any link, address and all. A model steered by a web page could write such a page; look at where a link goes before you click it.
- Coding agents' token: any program running as you can read
automation.jsonwhile the developer bridge is on, and so connect to Minda as a coding agent (page actions and your own tabs still wait for your Allow). Turn the bridge off when no agent needs it.
