AI browsers compared, function by function

AI browsers put an AI assistant inside the browser; agentic ones also act on pages for you. Here Perplexity Comet, Dia, Arc, Fellou, Opera Neon, Brave with Leo, Chrome with Gemini, Edge with Copilot and the retired ChatGPT Atlas sit beside Minda Super Intelligence, a desktop AI agent app with its own built-in browser, every fact sourced and dated.

What is an AI browser?

An AI browser is a web browser with an AI assistant built in: it reads the page you are on to answer questions, sum it up or write, and many can also act on the page for you.

The assistant usually sits in a panel beside the page, and some take your other open tabs as context. Where a maker names the engine underneath, the Browser engine row says which.

What sets them apart is what the AI may do, which models it uses, where it runs, and what it sends where. The table below compares exactly that.

What is an agentic browser?

An agentic browser is an AI browser whose assistant can act, not only answer: it clicks, types, fills in forms and moves between pages to finish a task you describe.

It works in your signed-in sessions, so it can do what you can do on a site. That is why the safeguards matter: whether it asks before a payment or a send, whether you can stop it, and how it treats text on a page that tries to give it orders.

Minda Super Intelligence is not a browser: it is a desktop AI agent app with its own built-in browser, so its SI agent acts on pages too, in the workspaces you name.

How do they compare, function by function?

Which AI browser fits which job?

It depends on the job: here is each one, the function that decides it, and the products whose makers say they do it.

Minda Super Intelligence is listed too, though it is not a browser: it is a desktop AI agent app with its own built-in browser. ChatGPT Atlas is left out: it is retired.

Is an AI browser safe?

It can be, when you keep control of what its AI may do: the risks are hidden orders on a page, an agent acting in your signed-in accounts, and what is sent to a cloud model.

  • Hidden orders on a page: a web page can carry text meant to steer an AI agent, called prompt injection. Look for one that treats page text as data and asks before sensitive steps.

  • Your signed-in accounts: an agent that acts as you can send, buy or delete. Look for a question before payments and sends, and a way to stop a run.

  • What leaves your computer: an AI that answers from a cloud model needs the content you ask about. Check what each maker says it sends, keeps and trains on, and whether the AI can run on your computer.

  • In Minda: Ask before paying is on by default, page text reaches the model fenced as data, and a log shows what the SI sent, never the words.

Where is each one ahead?

Each one wins somewhere. These are the differences that decide which one fits the work, each from its maker’s own page.

Where Minda is ahead

  • Works in your own signed-in accounts, each workspace’s sign-ins kept apart, so one agent can work in several accounts of one site at once.

  • Any AI model: Minda SI credits, your own key from six AI makers, or a model on your own computer through Ollama.

  • Unlimited scheduled tasks and automations on every plan, and cloud automations that run while your computer is off.

  • A published list of what leaves your computer, feature by feature, and one switch that keeps the SI on it.

Where Comet is ahead

  • Voice mode controls the whole browser, hands-free. Source

  • Prompt shortcuts run from anywhere with a /, and can be shared with a link. Source

  • Its Android app navigates, searches and finishes web tasks on its own. Source

Where Dia is ahead

  • Skills made from a single sentence, with its natural-language skill builder. Source

  • Extensions, their order and their on or off state sync across devices, profile by profile. Source

  • GitHub Live Tab Groups update the moment something changes. Source

Where Arc is ahead

  • Spaces and Profiles keep work, study and hobbies apart in one window. Source

  • Hover over a link and press Shift to preview the page, without a click. Source

  • Pinned tabs get shorter, tidier titles by themselves. Source

Where Fellou is ahead

  • Workflows run at a set time or on a repeating schedule. Source

  • Several tasks run at once in a workspace behind the scenes while you browse other sites. Source

  • Offers help before you ask, from your browsing and chat history, the page in front of you and your own knowledge base. Source

Where Neon is ahead

  • Neon Do acts inside your real browser session, where you are already signed in. Source

  • Tasks are self-contained workspaces that keep their own context. Source

  • A command-line tool with token compression, so AI agents use the browser more efficiently. Source

  • A built-in MCP server, so your own AI agents can use the browser. Source

Where Brave is ahead

  • Your own AI models, on your computer or remote. Source

  • Containers run several accounts of one site side by side, without another profile or a private window. Source

  • Chat with Leo with no account and no sign-in. Source

  • AI browsing works in an isolated profile and checks that each action is the one you meant. Source

Where Chrome is ahead

  • Share up to 10 open tabs with Gemini on a computer. Source

  • Take over a task from Gemini at any moment. Source

  • Turn prompts you use often into one-click tools with Skills. Source

Where Edge is ahead

  • Groups your browsing into journeys of related pages, searches and chats. Source

  • Shows each step of Browse with Copilot as it happens, and you can take control at any time. Source

  • Start by typing, with a voice conversation through Copilot Vision, or with a one-click summary of the page. Source

Where Atlas was ahead

  • Browser memories brought back what you had seen on sites you visited, when you needed it. Source

  • ChatGPT acted for you right in your own browser, where you were already signed in. Source

  • A switch in the address bar set which sites ChatGPT could see, even with memories on. Source

How this page was made

  • Minda’s column comes from Minda’s own product facts, the same ones the rest of this site uses.
  • Every other product’s answer links to the page of its maker it was read from. The lists below give each page and the day it was read.
  • No means its maker says it does not, or not yet. Not listed means the maker’s pages that were read do not mention it; it is never shown as No.
  • Not checked yet means no page of its maker answered it when this page was checked: none was read for it, or its answer could not be read. It is left out of every count.
  • Each answer is written in our own words from the maker’s page. The page compares what each product does, not how well: one row can hide a big difference in depth.
  • No prices: plans change often, and each maker’s own pricing page is the place to check them.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI browser is the best?

It depends on the job. For an agent that acts on pages, read the Acts on web pages and Asks before sensitive steps rows; for privacy, the data and AI on your own computer rows. Each answer links to its maker’s page, so check the rows that matter to you.

How is Minda different from an AI browser?

Minda Super Intelligence is a desktop AI agent app with its own built-in browser, not a browser with an assistant added. Its SI agent works in your own signed-in accounts, each workspace kept apart, with any AI model, and asks before it pays. It is coming soon for Windows.

Is an AI browser safe to use?

It can be, when you keep control: choose one that asks before payments and sends, lets you stop a run, and says what it sends to its AI. A web page can hide orders for an AI agent, so watch what an agent does in accounts that matter.

Why do some answers say Not listed or Not checked yet?

Not listed means the maker’s pages read for this comparison do not mention the function; it is not a No. Not checked yet means no page of the maker answered it on the check date. Neither is counted.

How current is this page?

Every answer was read from its maker’s own page on 18 October 2026, and the page is checked again before it changes. AI browsers change often: when a row matters to your decision, open its source.
