Control your browser by voice: say "Minda" and ask

To control your browser by voice, turn on the voice assistant in Minda Super Intelligence, say "Minda" and ask: open a site, search, read this page, scroll down. It is on every plan, on Minda AI credits or your own OpenAI key. There is no on-device wake word: each short clip you say is sent for transcription.

Written by the Minda team, from the app as it is built, and checked against it on the date shown. Facts checked against the app on .

What can I say to Minda?

Say "Minda" and then what you want, in your own words: it understands a sentence, not a fixed list of commands. Minda Super Intelligence is the personal AI agent app for your computer with a built-in browser, so by voice you reach the browser, the pages and the SI agent at once.

  • Open and search. "Minda, open YouTube", "search for flights to Lisbon in June", "go back", "open my bookmarks".
  • Control the browser. Tabs, scrolling, zoom, panels, notes, settings and the time are decided on this computer: "next tab", "scroll down", "zoom in", "new note", "what time is it".
  • Read and ask. "Read this page", "what does this page say about returns", "sum up this article": a question about the page sends its text to the model you use, and the answer is read aloud.
  • Hand a task to the SI agent. "Minda, book the 9 am slot on this page" starts the agent in the browser; when the task ends, its answer is told back to you in a few sentences.
  • Your own things. Your notifications, the briefing, the calendar, your tabs and your saved chats’ titles, when you ask; a reply you say ("reply to 2: on my way") is typed into that chat’s box, never sent.
  • Keep talking. With the Live conversation switch on, Minda Live stays in a conversation with you until about 15 seconds of quiet, on your Minda AI credits.
  • Cut in. Say "stop" while it speaks; with Interrupt by talking on, any word cuts in.

How do I turn the voice assistant on?

  1. Open Settings → AI → Minda voice assistant and turn it on. The first time, a notice says where your audio goes and warns against recording people who have not agreed; it is accepted once per computer.
  2. Allow the microphone when asked. The voice pill appears with a mic button; on Windows, Alt+W turns the microphone on or off from anywhere in Minda (and in Minda SI for Chrome), and a held key acts once.
  3. Say "Minda, open the news" and watch the pill: the words it hears show as you speak, and the answer is read aloud in Minda’s voice.
  4. If it misses you, right-click the mic and run Voice setup (the section below). If you want nothing sent, turn on Keep SI on this computer (the next section).

Where does my voice go?

There is no on-device wake word. To hear its name, Minda sends each thing you say, as a 16 kHz clip of at most 12 seconds, for transcription: to OpenAI with your own key, or to Minda’s hosted SI on your Minda AI credits, where each clip is a request of at least 1 credit. Silence, sounds under a quarter of a second and unbroken sound over 12 seconds are never sent. A command the browser can decide itself (tabs, scrolling, zoom, panels, notes, settings, the time) is decided on this computer; only a question, or a command it is not sure of, also sends the active page’s title and address to the model, and the page’s text only for a question about the page.

With Keep SI on this computer, nothing is sent: on Windows, Windows’ own speech recognizer hears on the computer, and a model in Ollama answers what the browser cannot decide itself; on other systems the voice assistant is refused. Every request is listed in the AI activity log by its kind and the audio’s length, never its words. Each day’s voice conversation is kept as a "Voice" chat in History on this computer unless Save voice conversations in History is off, and never in a private window.

How do I make it hear me better?

  1. Right-click the mic button and choose Voice setup.
  2. Speak as you normally do. It checks how your voice reaches the microphone: too quiet, too loud, too much room.
  3. A voice too quiet for it is turned up, at most 8 times, and the setting is kept on that computer for that microphone, so a headset and the laptop’s own mic each get their own.
  4. Run it again when you change microphones or rooms; a headset close to the mouth helps most in a noisy room.

How do I choose how Minda talks?

Talk style sets how Minda talks, not how it sounds: in a country’s everyday way of talking, or in your own words. Open Settings → AI → Minda voice assistant → Talk style, or the mic button’s right-click menu, and pick one of 21 countries’ ways of talking, among them American, British, Australian, Indian, Singaporean, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Nigerian, Mexican, Brazilian, French, German and Gulf Arab, or write your own words ("short and dry, no small talk"). It applies in Minda Live, on calls and in the voice assistant’s replies, and it follows your account, so Minda SI for Chrome talks the same way. The AI chat changes it when you ask, your own words only after you say yes.

It is a light touch, never a caricature: the choice of words and the rhythm of a place, with no accent mocked.

Can Minda make calls for me?

Yes, on WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram and TikTok web calls, on every plan. Say "call the clinic on WhatsApp and ask when they open" and the SI agent opens the call in your own WhatsApp Web tab after you say yes. The moment they pick up it says first that it is an AI calling for you, by your name; it talks in short natural turns, works through your brief, answers the other person’s questions only from the facts you gave it, never agrees to a payment or a commitment, tells you what was said, and you can take over at any point. It never calls the same person again unless you ask. Call lists that call leads one by one need the Minda Calls add-on; Max includes it.

Save call audio is off by default (Settings → Calls). On, a web call is saved as one audio file on your computer, never uploaded or synced; a bar shows Recording with Stop, Minda says the call is recorded when it talks for you, and in many places everyone on a call must agree, so you tell the other person. A call in your phone app or on WeChat cannot be recorded.

Who is voice control for?

Anyone who prefers to talk, and above all people who cannot easily type or use a mouse: a hand that tires, a screen that is hard to see, a day when the keyboard is too much. The whole browser, the pages and the agent answer to a sentence, and the answer is read aloud. Access credits add 1,000 Minda AI credits a month on any plan, Free included, for people with disabilities, on their own word: one tick, no proof, diagnosis or reason asked for or kept, so the voice and the hosted models cost nothing extra.

Start with Learn Minda: nine short lessons for students, people with disabilities and anyone new. The Minda Community adds Study tracks of five short lessons, each with a quiz of 3 to 5 questions, and a forum where people who use Minda answer, with Minda AI stepping in after a minute when nobody has. The accessibility page shows the settings that help most.

Limits

  • There is no on-device wake word: a 16 kHz clip of at most 12 seconds of what you say is sent for transcription, to OpenAI with your key or to Minda’s hosted SI on credits; with Keep SI on this computer, Windows’ own recognizer hears on the computer, and other systems refuse the voice assistant.
  • Each clip on Minda AI is a request of at least 1 credit; with your own OpenAI key it costs no credits.
  • A call in your phone app or on WeChat cannot be recorded, and call lists that call leads one by one need the Minda Calls add-on.

Questions

Does Minda listen all the time?

There is no on-device wake word. Minda sends each thing you say, as a 16 kHz clip of at most 12 seconds, for transcription, to OpenAI with your key or to Minda’s hosted SI on your credits; silence is never sent. With Keep SI on this computer, Windows’ own recognizer hears on the computer and nothing is sent.

Does voice control cost credits?

On Minda AI, each clip is a request of at least 1 credit, and a question about a page is a chat request on top; with your own OpenAI key it costs no credits. The voice assistant is on every plan, and Access credits add 1,000 a month for people with disabilities.

Can I use it with no cloud at all?

Yes, on Windows: Keep SI on this computer makes Minda refuse every cloud model and cloud speech, Windows’ own recognizer hears on the computer, and a model in Ollama answers what the browser cannot decide itself. On other systems the voice assistant is then refused.

Can Minda talk the way people talk where I live?

Yes. Talk style picks a country’s everyday way of talking, American, Singaporean, Indian, British, Mexican and 16 more, or your own words, with a light touch and no accent mocked. It follows your account, so Minda SI for Chrome talks the same way.

Which calls can Minda make for me?

WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram and TikTok web calls, on every plan. It says first that it is an AI calling for you, works through your brief, answers only from facts you gave it and never agrees to a payment. Call lists that call leads one by one need the Minda Calls add-on.
